Finney and Smith was started in 1992 by Dave Finney and Nick Smith with the idea of producing etches in 3mm scale for some Great Eastern Railway locomotives.  Soon after chance meetings with Jim McGeown (Connoisseur Models) and Barry Parks (Cambrian Models) led to the bulk of the current range of kits.  A few kits from other sources have been added when suitable and the range is being expanded from whatever suitable sources are available.

We are now widening our range to include products not available else where in the UK and of interest to all modellers.  The first of these was the Bachrus saddle rolling road system and now includes the Hoffman point motor and "The Right Clamp"™.
